Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

It is our great honor to welcome you to the upcoming session of Viking Model United Nations (VMUN): a one-day conference hosted by Lynbrook High School dedicated to exploring international relations, diplomacy, and policy-making through the lens of simulated debate.

Set to take place on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, VMUN brings together students from across the region for an engaging day of discussion, collaboration, and leadership. Whether you are a seasoned delegate or attending your very first conference, VMUN provides a unique opportunity to take on the role of a diplomat, tackle pressing global issues, and develop skills that extend far beyond the committee room.

At VMUN, our mission is simple: to empower the leaders of tomorrow. By researching complex geopolitical topics, writing position papers, and participating in dynamic committee sessions, delegates learn to think critically, speak confidently, and work cooperatively toward meaningful resolutions. Our conference fosters the ability to analyze global challenges, negotiate solutions, and understand the intricacies of policymaking in a global context.

Throughout the day, delegates will participate in General Assembly-style committees, representing assigned countries and working to address real-world issues. We are continually inspired by the thoughtfulness and dedication that students bring to the table, and we look forward to seeing the innovative ideas and resolutions that emerge from this year’s sessions.
